Rugs No Longer just for Floors

Author: admin  //  Category: rugs

When most people think of rugs, they don’t usually first think of them as wall ornaments. But with so many new designs and contemporary styles to choose from, I really do consider quite a few rugs as lovely works of art that deserve to be hung.

rugs, no longer just floors

When most people think of rugs, they don’t usually first think of them as wall ornaments. Clearly, to most they belong on the floor, in front of a door, in a hallway, or under key pieces of furniture. But why not on a wall? As a consumer and art lover, I take a lot of time and pride in choosing the perfect rug that will truly bring out the best features of my home. Yet I’ve always thought to myself, why would I want to walk all over something so beautiful?

With so many new designs and contemporary styles to choose from, I really do consider quite a few rugs as lovely works of art. But it’s not like I’ve always been a fan of the idea. I remember the first time I saw a Persian rug hanging on the wall I thought to myself, man, who walks on walls around here? Yet the more I looked at it, the more I realized that this Persian rug was special, a one of a kind piece that should be hung for all to see and appreciate.

And why not? If your child were to come home with a drawing that she made for you, the first thing you do is hang it on the fridge, or frame it and hang it on the wall. The same can be said about hanging a rug on the wall. Instead of hanging a generic painting or photograph on your walls, hanging an ornate rug or runner as a unique piece of tapestry will add a new dimension in style for your home.

rugs, no longer just floors

However, it’s best to keep a hanging tapestry as an accent piece in your home. Depending on the style of your current décor, using a rug as the centerpiece of your home may bring too much attention to the rug and not the room. Think of it this way, rugs were meant to highlight the best features of a room whether they’re on the floor or on the wall. Remember you want to be artistic and eclectic without blending in or overdoing it.

Braided Rugs To Make Them Last a Lifetime

Author: admin  //  Category: rugs

This article will show you how to properly care for your braided rugs.

braided rugs to make them last a lifetime

So, you are a proud owner of those beautiful braided rugs, are you?

You take extreme pride at showing them off to your friends, relatives and guests and all those who drop in at your place. Actually, even if you don’t have a visitor on a particular day, still you love to admire them and consider them an integral part of your concept of home.

The braided rugs are by nature long lasting and can take a lot of harsh treatment but you must not forget that they are made through braiding strips of cloth. So, you should take extreme care that no damage to the braiding is done. If you can protect the braiding, the rug would take care of the other attacks! In fact, the more pressure and trampling is done on these rugs, the flatter they become and the braiding gets even more dense. So, footsteps actually increase the life span of these braided rugs and carpets!

In recent days another property of these rugs has made them even more popular.

The fibers used today have the capacity to hide soil and dirt and reflect light. That is to say, the soil and dirt don’t show as starkly as they would on a hard floor. But this apparent absence of soil and dirt does not mean that it is not there. Moreover, dry soil has sharp edges, so if allowed to remain for a longer time within the rug the braiding fibers may get damaged and your rug may end up with a scruffy look.

Braided Rugs Care

So, you should ensure that your rugs are cleaned regularly and, more importantly, properly.

Make it a general practice to vacuum at least the upper side of your rugs at least twice a week. Your vacuum cleaner should have enough suction power to penetrate right up to the backing. Move the vacuum cleaner slowly and deliberately over the carpet quite a few times till you feel enough soil has been sucked out. That will remove a major part of the dust and loose soil which tends to get accumulated through repeated footfalls.

But you just can not avoid cleaning the rugs once in a while.

The first thing you shouldn’t do while cleaning the rugs is use a vacuum cleaner with rotating brushes (or beater bars, as they are more popularly known). These beater bars tend to pull at the braiding strings and leave your carpet with a scruffy look.

Use a gentle rug cleaner and the vacuum cleaner should shoot water inside the carpet so that the soap gets inside the fibers. Leave it like that for a few minutes and allow the cleaner to do its job of loosening the dirt. After that, keep dousing the carpet with large jets of water so that the soap is completely cleaned out. Take care that the rug is placed flat all the while you are cleaning it otherwise it will become crumpled and it will be impossible to remove those creases later.

After all the soap has been flushed out, leave the carpet to dry on that flat surface. You may have to turn it upside down quite a few times to ensure that it dries uniformly or else it will start emitting a sour smell when you lay it down once again. When you are sure that it is completely dry sling it over some sturdy bar or rod so that both sides of the carpet are aired properly.

If however you want to just spot clean your rug then all this hassle is not necessary.

Use a gentle rug cleaner and a piece of cloth (don’t use brushes, they may damage the braiding strings) and swipe the area clean.

Oriental Rug Care: How to care for hand knotted area rugs

No one has ever methodically demonstrated that rug pads make rugs last longer, but clearly rug pads prevent many accidents by keeping rugs and people from slipping around on hardwood floors. For that reason I usually recommend them. … If proper care has not been taken by the rugmaker in the clipping, the situation can, on rare occasions, be annoying enough to be considered a real problem — though one that affects the appearance of a carpet, never its longevity.”

Rugs on the Plywood

Author: admin  //  Category: rugs

When we are thinking about decorating the floor in our house with carpets or rugs we can do this only on smooth and tough areas. The floor must be ‘healthy’ to cover it up. If it is an old plywood we must prepare it rightly.

rugs on the plywood

There is no point in covering an old plywood that is almost total mess and tears apart. If it’s too dry and moves all will be seen on the carpet and make it wears out easily. Trying to do something with an old plywood pays out only if the damages aren’t big and it will cost us less than making a new one.

When the staves of the plywood don’t move it’s all we need cause it means we don’t have to make a new plywood but only take care of the old one. Single staves might be stick up with special glue. They can’t be usually moved out from the plywood so the best solution will be making holes in it and pouring the glue with a syringe. And after that cover the holes with lute to plywood.

If the plywood is not only dry but also have irregular surface all can be covered with the composition of epoxide resin and fine-grained sand. Such composition will precisely cover all the small holes between the staves. The composition should be made in small amounts and because it congeals fast it should be smoothed just after it was putted on the plywood.

We can of course decide that it will take too much time to repair the plywood. In this case it is better to replace it with a new one or just totally change the look of the floor. To do that we have to get rid of the old plywood, clean the surface from glue and prepare it to changes - floor with plywood or not.

rugs on the plywood

All right, our floor is repaired or changed and seems to look quite well, just to put rugs or other floor coverings. We just have to choose the right one and have a good time at our home with totally new floor. Sometimes only such small changes like carpet, rug might bring a huge effect. Consider A Wool Rug For Your Home

Author: admin  //  Category: rugs

Wool rugs are very popular for contemporary homes. Why should you consider one for your home? Wool rugs in a modern contemporary home add a warm touch to any room. Many people prefer the look and feel of woven or tufted rugs. Many of the popular styles can be very affordable for low budget redecorating. Therefore, for anyone who is looking to invest in a wool rug, there may be questions about durability.

While wool rugs are popular for many different reasons, one of the most popular reasons is the resistant nature of wool rugs. Wool fibers do not absorb soil very well. This makes the rugs easier to keep clean.

consider a wool rug for your home

In addition, wool rugs are resistant to fire. The rugs are safe to put in children’s rooms or in high traffic areas of the home. The material is also resistant to static electricity. Wool naturally absorbs water from the air. Studies show that the wool fiber may absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water and it still feels dry to the touch. Wool rugs can actually absorb the water vapor in the air, relieving the humidity in the home. Wool rugs are also very durable. They can sustain their quality for years, even within the home of an active family.

Earlier in the article, it was mentioned that wool rugs did not absorb dirt. Other spills are also quite easy to clean. You can remove most stains with a little warm water and with light blotting. No chemicals are needed, making it safer for your family.

Upkeep of your wool rug depends on how you look after it once you bring it home. A light vacuuming once a week with slow, even strokes actually helps to improve the quality. A new wool rug may shed a few fibers at first and this is quite natural. With time, the shedding effect will fade and with continued regular vacuuming, your carpet looks better and has improved quality.

Rugs are not only popular for their many benefits, but also for their designs. Now, manufacturers can create popular oriental, Persian and other styles of rugs for any fashionable home. You can get traditional hand made carpets of fine quality, or for something a little more inexpensive, a machine made wool rug is just as beautiful. Many of the hand made rugs come from China, Spain, or India. If you are looking for machine made rugs, many rug companies in the USA create these.

If you are looking for a nice contemporary feel to your home, wool rugs make for an elegant and inexpensive option. Finding the right one for your home should be easy, a redecorating store or a specialized wool rug shop would be able to assist you with your needs and give recommendations on style. Wool rugs are a great investment for your home.

Decorative And Functional Modern Rugs

Modern Rugs for Modern Times

Your living room is probably the best place for your modern rug. Modern area rugs come in a canvas of colors and bring life to any room they are in. They are a testimony to the improvement of craftsmanship over the centuries.  In the days of yore only royalty and prominent people could avail of this craftsmanship. In those days the various tribesmen, who lived in worlds far removed from the carpet capital of the world, closely guarded the secret of their craftsmanship. Weaving a carpet involved a lot of hard work. Each carpet was hand-made and took years from start to finish.

decorative and functional modern rugs

Modern area rugs and carpets are made with a combination of natural wool, cotton an silk and are usually machine made.

Persian carpets are famous all over the world and are considered as one of the most prized carpets world wide. They are not cheap however. A Persian carpet measuring 4’x 6’could cost you about $200. Because Persian carpets are so expensive, many home owners prefer to buy something cheaper that would still perform the same function at a lesser price.

Rugs are just smaller-sized carpets and are available in standard sizes that could range from 3’ x 5’ to 9’ x 12’. The smallest available rug would be enough to cover a small coffee table. Rugs are very effective in covering certain areas colorfully and decoratively. Whereas carpets are typically used to cover the entire floor area, area rugs can be easily placed under assorted furniture including coffee tables.

Rugs should be chosen to match the finish and décor of the room they will be placed in. Rugs that are lighter in color make a room appear larger than it is. Besides being decorative, rugs are also functional. They are more comfortable to walk on rather than a bare floor and they also protect the floor.

Modern area rugs come in three yarn categories including propylene rugs, nylon rugs and wool rugs.

Propylene rugs cost the least of the three and are neither flame retardant nor as soft as the nylon or wool rugs. However, with technological improvements, they can now be treated with special chemicals that render them soft and flame retardant.

Nylon rugs have limited flame retarding properties. They plasticize and emit fumes when they burn, causing fumes to linger on in closed rooms.

Wool rugs are constructed of natural fibers. They are extremely soft and resilient and provide a comfortable cushioning effect when walking. Wool rugs are very durable, long-lasting and flame retardant. They do not melt or burn easily and are the preferred type of rug for most home owners.

decorative and functional modern rugs

Modern area rugs require minimum cleaning and have a life span of about twenty years. Rug maintenance specialists advise that modern rugs should ideally not be shampooed when they are new and only require regular cleaning using a vacuum cleaner.

Before you go ahead and buy a modern rug you need to decide where you are going to place it so you know which size to buy.

You Can’t Beat Oriental Rugs For Elegance

Author: admin  //  Category: rugs

Oriental rugs will add timeless beauty to your home, will coordinate with any décor, and enhance any room, hallway, or entrance. They are also a favorite option when decorating home offices, and are a particularly good choice for high traffic areas because of the intricacies of their designs, which hide wear and tear. The term “oriental” refers to rugs produced on the continent of Asia, such as Persian (from Iran), Indian, Chinese, and Turkish rugs. Imitations of the popular oriental patterns are also available and produced by manufacturers such as Nourison in the USA, and Sphinx, also in the USA but with its parent company in Egypt.

you can't beat oriental rugs for elegance

Making rugs by hand is an ancient art and the old designs reflect the religious and ethnic structures of the times in the countries or areas of origin. Many of these ancient designs are still produced today, sometimes hand-woven and hand-knotted, other times woven by machine. The most traditional patterns are those with a floral or garden motif, or geometric or curvilinear designs around a central medallion or a central painting-like scene. Oriental rugs used to be constructed only with such natural fibers as wool, cotton, silk, or goat and camel hair, or blends of these materials, but now you can find them made with less expensive synthetic materials such as olefin (polypropylene), nylon, polyester, and acrylic. Wool rugs remain the first choice in durable, soft, dirt-and-fire resistant, warm rugs, but synthetic reproductions make oriental area rugs more affordable. They come in a variety of colors, sizes, and shapes – round, oval, rectangular, and, of course, the popular runner.

you can't beat oriental rugs for elegance
How to Choose Oriental Rugs for Your Home
Decide on how you are going to use each area rug. Is it going to define furniture groupings or unify all the elements in the room? Is its primary use to protect a floor or a carpet? Is its prime function to add warmth and comfort? The use of the rug will dictate its size and shape. As well, you should keep these points in mind:
· The colors should be harmonious with other colors in the room.
· If the center of the carpet will be visible, medallions or central scenes are good choices, but if the center will be fully or partially hidden under a table or other furniture, it is better to go with a repetitive design or an elaborate and interesting border.
· A family with health problems will appreciate rugs with natural fibers since they have the advantage of not releasing chemicals into the air as synthetics do.
· Very colorful and busy designs can make an oriental rug the focal point in a room, but if the room is already colorful with intricate drapery and upholstery fabric designs, choose simple designs and subtle colors.
· If you are going to use two different rugs in one room, make sure the colors and patterns blend and complement each other.

Important Cost Considerations
It is not as difficult as you may think to find good quality, cheap area rugs with oriental designs. When you shop online, you deal directly with online retailers who can offer discount and warehouse prices because there are no storefront costs and no middlemen to pay. As well as shopping online, here are other considerations that can make the oriental rug of your dreams affordable:
· An antique rug is the most expensive and should have documentation attesting to its authenticity; imitations are much less costly.
· Natural fibers are more expensive than synthetic.
· Hand-made, hand-woven, and hand-knotted rugs made by weavers are more durable and much more expensive than machine woven and knotted.
· The number of knots per square inch indicates its quality, and a higher number means a higher cost.
· Very intricate and rare designs are the most expensive.

· The country or area of origin affects the price.

Whether you spring for a genuine antique oriental wool rug that has been hand woven and hand knotted in Iran, or you choose a polypropylene machine woven rug with an oriental design manufactured in North America, you will be adding beauty, warmth and comfort to your home. Enjoy!

How to Clean A Wool Rug

Author: admin  //  Category: rugs

Wool rugs are known for their durability and exceptional quality, as well as their Snuggle bear softness. But once it’s in your home, it suffers the consequences of a household of clumsiness, accidents, and general forgetfulness. Wool rugs gather stains, grime, and sticky Halloween candy residue. While it looks as though they would be a pain to clean, however, cleaning wool rugs is a cinch! All you need to do is follow a few steps that will help make your rug look as good as new again.

how to value a wool rug

First, shake your rug outside to get rid of any excess dirt and dust. Unless your rug specifically indicates that it should be dry cleaned only, use a vacuum (or a Hoover, if you’re British) to suck up any remaining dirt on both sides. Imported Oriental or Persian rugs often need special care, so check with your rug’s manufacturer for details on whether it needs a professional cleaning.

For the most part, small to medium-sized wool rugs can be washed at home. In order to wash your rug at home, begin by spot cleaning any stains with an appropriate stain remover. It’s best if you test the cleaner on a small section of rug first. Be sure to use cleaning products that will not damage the integrity of the rug. Take the rug outside on a paved area, like a patio, and wet it down with a hose. Add about two capfuls of a mild detergent in a bucket of water and mix up the suds in the bucket. Wipe up your rug using a clean sponge, rinse the suds away, and roll up the rug in dry towels to soak up excess water. Another option is using a Wet/Dry vacuum to suck up the dirty water out of the rug faster. Once the water has been drained, lay the rug flat to dry, but don’t let it sit in the sun for a long period of time-it can cause the color to fade or the rug to shrink. Now your area rug is as soft and wooly as ever before!

A few reminders to keeping those area rugs looking spiffy:

*Vacuum over your rug to get rid of any dust in the wool on a regular basis. It’s like a second layer of carpet, so it needs to be vacuumed just as often as floor carpeting does.

*Clean spots and spills right when they happen. Simply wipe up the mess and clean straight away by blotting with a cloth or white paper towels. Many rugs feature stain-resistant treatments, but even when those precautions, a minor spill can turn into a major disaster if left untreated.

*Do not scrub! When you scrub a rug, it can distort and ruin the pile. Instead, continue blotting and absorbing until the rug is dry, then clean with a spot remover and rinse thoroughly.

*Never get an area rug too wet. Long periods of dampness, especially over twenty-four hours, can lead to mildew and bacteria growth. Avoid inviting microorganisms to the party by drying your area rug completely.

*Professional cleaning can do wonders for your rug. If you’re lazy, or aiming for a World’s Dirtiest Carpet record, a professional deep clean every twelve to eighteen months helps remove even the most stubborn dirt.

Remember the vivid hues? The bold color of that design? The way it looked before you had children? Re-create that magic with these simple steps, and your wool rugs will look and feel as luxurious as it did before.

An Introduction to Modern and Traditional Rugs

Author: admin  //  Category: rugs

When a house is decorated, whether professionally or otherwise, one of the first decisions to be made is about the floor covering. The choices in floor coverings are virtually limitless, but many people limit their selection to rugs, and then explore the possibilities within that general category.

An Introduction to Modern and Traditional Rugs

Rug use

Rugs are used in many rooms of the house, indeed in almost every room. Area rugs are used in the living room to add to the general décor, to define seating and television viewing and general use area, as well as to provide boundaries for traffic patterns and flow. Fine oriental rugs may occupy a place of honor in the middle of the room, or they may be more subtly used to define a conversation area. Just because it’s a discount area rug doesn’t mean that it should be hidden away in a back bedroom. In the kitchen, discount rugs are often chosen because of food spills and traffic present in the kitchen area.

Discount rugs are less expensive, but that doesn’t mean they are cheap area rugs, in the negative sense of the word. Kitchen rugs may almost be considered disposable, in the sense that may only be used one season before being discarded. They must be easily cleanable. A cheap area rug is often used as a bath rug because it must withstand lots of moisture and also must be cleanable. One doesn’t want to see mold and mildew build up on the bathroom rugs because of the risk of disease and other health problems.

What is the rug made out of?

A good quality wool rug will last for years, particularly if not placed in an area where fading and traffic wear is a factor. Discount rugs are often made of man-made fibers and are usually produced in factories rather than by hand such an oriental rug. Persian rugs are produced at great cost and are intended to last for many years. Persian rugs have been known to be mentioned in wills and are granted to lucky heirs as a possession of great value. A wool rug is the favorite when beauty and durability is the most important factor. Kitchen rugs and bath rugs are often made of fibers which are washable

Rug color, size and shape

Braided rugs are often oval in shape, but can also be round or oblong. Braided rugs often present a more casual, even “country” appearance. Rugs now come in almost every color scheme and size. It seems that the more expensive a rug is, the more traditional its shape and coloration. Discount rugs, though are designed in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and designs. You can find theme rugs for everything from a child’s Superman rug to the sports enthusiast’s area rug in the colors of his favorite football team. Discount rugs also may appear in some unusual shapes, such as the shape and coloration of a flower which might make perfect bathroom rugs.

No matter what your need is for area rugs, you can find it in your fine carpet and floor covering store, or at the local discount rugs marketplace. Enjoy your shopping and don’t be afraid to try something new and different in the selection of your rugs.

Area Rugs Go Way Back

Author: admin  //  Category: rugs

We have used area rugs since the start of civilization. The Paleolithic men use rugs that are made from animal skin and reeds. Eskimos use rugs that are made from bear or seal fur to keep their igloos warm. Different areas in the world create rugs from materials that are most abundant in their place. During the era of Jesus Christ, sheep are reared for different purposes. One of these is to shear their wool to make into rugs and clothing. In the east, an oriental area rug is a significant part of their culture. No matter the size of the house, you will always find a rug that is matched with the interior design. Even owners of costly houses decorate their homes with wool rugs that are machine-loomed.

area rugs go way back

The First Discovered Area Rug

A Russian archaeologist discovered the first area rug during his exploration in the year 1949. The woolen Pazyryk rug is hand-woven, and still has its exquisite features intact. Discovered within a frozen burial site in Siberia, the wool rug features an amazing design, rich colors, and great texture. The most wonderful thing about this discovery is that the rug has been extraordinarily well preserved within the site. It lay buried under the ground for twenty-five centuries. This area rug, which is made from wool, is a unique Saka art example that is characterized with hand-knotting methods. This hand-weaving technique is still utilized during the modern times.

The “Spring of Khosrau” Area Rug

The well-known “Spring of Khosrau” is another woolen area rug discovered way back the old times. Owned by a Persian king, the hand-knotted wool rug is huge and decorated with rich designs. It has been estimated that the rug has been created around 550 BC. It is made from wool, gold, silk, gemstones, and silver. Its texture is woven with breathtaking springtime scenery. There are flower blooms, green meadows, and birds. This area rug contains typical Persian carpet design wonders. This Persian wool rug is so exquisite that its entire area measures 400,000 sq ft. The Konya Carpets of Turkey

For the people in Turkey, making carpets is an old tradition for every household. Among the ancient surviving area rugs from the country are the recognized “Konya carpets,” which are composed of 18 beautiful carpets. They are piled into hand-knots, and woven during the thirteenth century within the peninsula of Anatolia. These woolen rugs are created under the dynasty of Seljuc, with calligraphy borders known as “kufi.” The rug also features symmetric geometrical designs that are repeated within the center. This wonderful art of carpet making has been passed down from generation to generation within the country. As a matter of fact, you can still see beautifully made hand-woven carpets and rugs sold in the street stalls of Turkey.

The rich culture of weaving area rugs persists during the modern times. If you want to decorate your home with a magnificently designed rug, there are several manufacturers that you can purchase from. While it is quite a hassle to look around your local mall for the best rugs, the search is more convenient on the Internet. There are plenty of websites that offer exquisite area rugs that are made from different materials.

Making Use Of Purple Area Rugs

Shipping a rug back to the company because the color was not what you expected could be just as much of a hassle as taking the time to drive to a store would have been. With all of the shades of purple area rugs and the fact that the computer and … All you do is simply call the different stores and ask if they have any purple area rugs currently and then make a list of where you need to go and where you should avoid. Nothing can compare to seeing merchandise in person.

Apartment Therapy New York | Good Questions: Staining Parquet Floors?

I think your best bet in a rental is a liberal use of area rugs (with some effort you can find some that very nearly fill the whole floor). They’re really beautiful floors, in good shape, and a nice neutral blondish wood; I think the bits … A while back I had a NYC rental with parquet floors in poor condition. I went to ABC carpet in the remnants section downstairs and found a piece that was discounted and large enough to have the entire apartment done, wall to wall.

The Pros and Cons of Rug Shampooing

On the other side of the issue, people will argue that carpet shampooing, although the most common form of rug cleaning, is also the least effective way to go about cleaning your carpets. … Doing the work yourself might save you a little cash, but it’s a difficult, back-breaking job to move all of the furniture and run the machine. Shampooing gets the carpets really wet, so you aren’t able to do more than small areas at a time without having to stop and allow them to.

New Zealand Lambskin Wool Rugs

Author: admin  //  Category: rugs

New Zealand sheepskin wool rugs are among the most beautiful area rugs in the world. They are also organic, which means they are earth and man friendly. And not only that, but they have amazing qualities above and beyond their aesthetic beauty which can be shown off in your home decor, as something your friends will envy and your family will love them, too. Lets see why.

new zealand lambskin wool rugs

Simple and pure, 100% sheep and lambskin rugs are ounce for ounce stronger than steel. They will not easily tear, rip or loose their shape. They are static free, water resistant, will not shed. They resist wrinkles, soiling and piling. And you can wash them, occasionally when you think they may need it… on gentle cycle in the washing machine or hand wash. If there happens to be a spill on your beautiful rug, sponge it off and blot dry with a towel. That’s it. You can brush it, shake it and vacuum it. A sheepskin rug likes and handles all that action effortlessly. They really hold up with minimal care to the toughest of wear you can throw at them and retain their shape and beauty for years and years to come.

What else you may not know about these amazing area rugs is that they can breath. The wool fibers are hollow so they can absorb and soak up moisture in the air. They can soak up 30% of their weight in moisture in the air. So what? That means when it’s cold outside they remain dry and warm and when it’s hot in the warmer months of the year, they remain dry and cool to the skin. A free flow of air remains between you and the sheepskin wool rug.

Think about this. When you sit on a leather sofa and it’s a hot summers day, do you stick to it? Yes. How about vinyl, do you stick to it? Yes, and it can even burn if it’s a vinyl car seat in the hot sun. Not wool sheepskins. They remain cool to the touch in hot temperatures and are warm and yummy on a cold, damp day.

Another extremely nice quality that nature provides in the all natural sheepskins is lanolin. If you are not familiar with lanolin it is a moisturizer and lubricant derived from raw wool. Man has tried and failed to duplicate lanolin in the laboratories for centuries. It’s still just one of natures miracles that cannot be duplicated by man. So, if your children were to lay upon the sheepskin rug on the floor, playing with their toys and games, it’s soft and wonderful to their skin. Keeps them off damp and drafty floors in winter and cool to their skin in summer.

Smart mom’s know about lambskin rugs and comforters for their babies well being. These rugs and comforters are sought after by mom’s and they take them everywhere with the baby. Why? Babies are known to sleep more easily and soundly riding in the car with the lambskin comforter wrapped around them. And when it’s a hot day, it’s great for the baby to lay upon the lambskin on the floor for naps or play, as it will keep them dry and cool and it’s nice on babies skin. In the cooler temperatures it’s nice to put the baby down on this soft rug to keep them off a drafty floor and keeps them warm as a bug in a rug… as the saying goes.
